Rose Balm – New and Improved

Uh Oh… is that a good thing or a bad thing?
That is what I always thought when I saw that one of my favorite products had the “new and improved” rosebalmsign on them. ESPECIALLY on a cleaning product – when I used to buy them – they were often not improved at all, just repackaged to hopefully generate new customers. Sometimes, the quality had taken a step backward and the new ingredient wasn’t very good at all.

But that is NOT what is happening here! If you have read about the TLCream, the oils are infused with calendula and helichrysum.  Well, the Rose Balm was SO nice with the oils infused with Roses, I thought why not use the calendula and helichrysum in this as well?

Roses likely originated in northern Persia, then spread across Mesopotamia to Palestine and across Asia Minor to Greece.  And thus it was that Greek colonists brought it to Southern Italy.  It is beyond doubt that Roses used in ancient days were cultivated varieties.  Horace and Pliny both wrote extensively about Roses.  The Romans made lavish use of Rose blossoms.   Roses have long been used as a remedy for soothing irritated skin.

Calendula has long been used by herbalists in cooking, medicine and as a garden flower .  Dodoens-Lyte (A Niewe Herball, 1578) wrote:  ‘It hath pleasant, bright and shining yellow flowers, to which do close at the setting downe of the sunne, and do spread and open againe at the sunne rising.’

Long used externally for pain, swelling, sprains and wounds, calendula also promotes cell repair and growth.

Helichrysum (also known in previous times as “Immortelle” or “Eternal Flower”) extract relieves skin irritations and promotes tissue regeneration.   Vitamin E is an antioxidant, has a roll in cell signaling and enzymatic activity.

Without a doubt, this beautiful balm just got a little more lovely.  It is a wonderful lip balm.  It can also be used on extremely dry spots, to groom eye brows – my daughter even uses it on her hair to control little strays – pretty much open to your imagination!

Made with organic avocado and olive oils infused with organic roses, organic calendula and organic helichrysum, organic sunflower seed oil, organic coconut oil, organic beeswax, organic honeycomb, raw organic honey, raw organic cocoa butter, raw organic shea butter, lanolin, alkanna tinctoria, vitamin e, geranium essential oil and rose essential oil.
