Sunscreen!
Here in the desert, one of the things our skin needs most is moisture. It did occur to me that simply making a spray oil would be convenient, but spraying oil right on already hot skin is really not a wonderful feeling – not to me, anyway.
So, the answer is to add water, right? While using beeswax as an emulsifier is OK, when the emulsion is subjected to extreme temperatures (nothing extreme about 110 degrees, right?), it comes apart. I found an emulsifier that is made from olives without the use of solvents, is Eco Cert approved for use in organic products and it’s pretty much edible. 🙂 Not that I’d recommend eating the sunscreen, but it’s good to know that what is going on the skin is not toxic!
Each of the oils in this have been chosen for their naturally occurring SPF. The lotion comes in around 20, and it feels refreshing going on! Win Win! 🙂 Shop here
